The truth is, vegetables do not agree with a dog's sensitive digestive system. Dogs lack the enzyme that allows the roughage in vegetables to be broken down. Without that breakdown occurring, proper absorption of the nutrients in vegetables does not occur. You would just be creating more of a mess to clean up at least, and at worst a pooch with an upset tummy. If you were to observe the hunting and eating habits of wild canine types, you would see that after the kill the first thing eaten is the stomach and its contents. There is a reason for this habit; most prey of wild canine type are herbivores and their stomachs contain pre-digested vegetation with mineral and nutrient content still intact. This is how feral canines get the needed nutrients that are in veggies but not meat. If you insist on feeding your pooch veggies , run them through a food processor with a little water uncooked. I personally mix in a dose of acidophiles to aide the digestion.
