 Puppy is sick but something doesn't add up
I got a little cattle dog mix from a foster family March 28 and two days later she was deathly ill. She's been in the hospital since Monday and here is why I just don't get it:
Vets say it's viral but Elsie has NO fever.
In the case of rotovirus, coronavirus and even the terrible Parvovirus dogs literally die quickly or recover in 3-5 days. Elsie is the SAME, no better, no worse.
Her symptoms are akin to her having eaten a foriegn body but x-rays are negative though the doc said there were folds of skin he couldn't see past.
Vets CANNOT confirm that it is indeed viral but assume so.
She will not eat, throws up when she drinks and has intermitent bloody diarrhea.
If anyone has any experience with foriegn body information or if anyone has any ideas please let me know.
Afterwork Sunday night the vet said she has a 50% chance of getting better, 2 days after they were very optimistic.
I feel like they just have no clue.
