Default Dog Car Sickness

My little baby doesnt travel very well!

Espcially in the cars is there any sort of medicine/tablet I can give her like us humans would take for car sickness?

I havent checked with the vet yet so I thought id ask here as it might be helpful to others.

My moms dog throws up everytime she puts it in the car. She uses a medicine called PetAlive. It's a motion sickness pill for dogs. I would check with your vet before you give your dog anything though.

My border collie used to get carsick on long trips. Some things that helped:
+No breakfast
+Crate her (moving around too much made her more ill)
+ Make sure she rides on the back seat, not on the floor or in back
+If that fails, Dramamine is approved for dogs... they have a new non-drowsy formula, but drowsy always seemed good to me.

Yep, dramamine for long car rides is all that works with Phoebe.

My dog got car sick when she was a puppy. The vet told me to buy Dramamine. Your vet can tell you how much to give your dog, since it is based on the weight of dog. They should be able to help you over the phone.

We have never really had a problem with this and the only thing I can think of is that from buying them as pups we have always taken them for short car journeys to start with and gradually increased over time. I think the footwell is probably one of the worst places to have a dog as they are totally disorientated as to what is going on. We crate them in the back.

I don't have this problem, but I did have a hedgehog that got carsick.

Our vet says that if you put one of those grounding strips on your car that it will help animals.

Tranquilizers worked wonders for us. It should help the dog relax. It's better for the dogs heart too, especially if they get stressed out.
