Default I think my LuckyDog is sick

I'm planning on bringing him in tomorrow, but I'm worried sick. About a week ago, he started licking a spot on his paw, right on top. I can't keep him away from it, I need one of those funnel things, yet I cannot see anything other than the fact that it has grown quite a bit - he's licking himself raw.

His eyes seem bright, he's eating, not losing weight - I wonder if he is simply maturing & mellowing wth age (almost 4 years) or if something is seriously wrong. His puppydumb has seemed to disappear overnight. He's sleeping alot - most notably does not beg for my food. Is this normal or am I right to be worried. He is a springer/retriever mix, male, neutered, light of my life

There is something wrong with his paw. I would talke him to the Vet to have it checked out. Perhaps a sliver is in the paw. It could be many things. I would try to keep it covered, so he doesn't make the situation more serious. Hope he gets it taken care of. I can imagine what he must be going through.
Let us know what the vets says is the problem.

Default lucky

please buy Lucky a cone to wear so that his spot doesn't become a more serious situation like infection.

Visit the pet diet expert at Dog Health - Cat Health - Pet Health - Horse Health - Human Health | NZYMES.COM (PT) The advice is second to none!!

Default I think Luckydog is better

I think he may have gotten stung by a bee, at any rate - I got the cone for him and as long as I don't look him in the eye - he can't make me feel sorry for him as I know I'm doing what's best for him.

He started acting more like himself the very next day and I think his paw is looking better. I will bring him in for a check up anyway but I'm no longer in panic mode. He's definitely growing up though

Thanks to all for your input, sorry for my delayed response
