 Very sick boy
Hello,
I have a 1.5yo male lab mix. He has suffered from a gradual weight loss since May 07. In late August his play mate passed from bone cancer. He stopped eating and we took him to the vet and he has lost 13lbs.
He is refusing to eat, CBC normal with elevated white cell count and a fever of 103f. He was placed on antibiotics and the fever was eliminated. Still not eating on his own.
Bile acid test normal and ruled out a liver shunt, exocrine pancreatic insufficiencies ruled out. The vet is planning to do an ultrasound. We have had to force feed him over the last two weeks and now his belly is swollen with fluid.
Has anyone had similar experiences or have heard of a similar situation? Please help I am afraid he is going to die.
