I had been considering Life's Abundance. It looks like a good food. But the whole healthypetnet organization seems a bit too hype-heavy for my taste. Building Jane Bicks into a sort of pet food Martha Stewart figure. Trying to sell expensive dog food "systems" where you buy specially tailored doggie supplement pills from them. The whole "work at home and make money with network marketing!" thing. The slick infomercial full of scare tactics. And when I noticed the newsletter trying to sell *me* (not my pet) a bottle of weight loss pills, I decided I didn't trust Jane Bicks and Co.
I prefer the more conservative style of companies like Natura (Innova, California Natural, HealthWise, Karma) and Canidae. My impression is that those companies just make quality pet food year in and year out and let their solid reputation and old fashioned word of mouth be their marketing. Somehow, I have more trust in them.
