I have a 10 year old springer spaniel/black lab mix and she was always very healthy until now. She is lethargic (she's always been a little lazy but it's much worse now), has excessive discharge from her eyes (it is usually clear but also turns green and gooey), her nose is almost always warm and usually dry (it used to only be like that in extreme heat), she coughs A LOT, and her eyes are red.

I took her to 2 different vets 3x now and it still seems like something is wrong with her. The first 2 times to the vet they looked her over and said she was ok. The second time they said we should do a blood and urine analysis but again said she was ok. Now I took her to a different vet and they said she may have a sinus infection but really did not seem like they knew what was wrong. They seemed like they agreed something as wrong tho. I am giving her some antibiotics now but that's all and it does not seem like it is working. This is becoming expensive, frustrating, and I'm really worried about her. What could be the problem?

Please dont be like that. The reason people have probably not answered is because you have taken her to 3 vets and they dont know what the problem is. We are not vets if they dont know how do we? I hope you can get it sorted.----Aggy

My dog is sick right now, too and I'm so scared that he won't make it. He had a cough which was being treated with antibiotics as Kennel Cough, but he wasn't improving to I finally took him to a different vet today who thinks he has blastomycosis. I'm kicking myself over and over that I didn't figure this out sooner. He's now on an antifungal medicine........please pray if you would...

I've been doing a lot of reading about this disease and maybe this could be what your dog has, too. They say it's often misdiagnosed especially in areas of the country where it is not commom. Hope your dog is doing better.

My heart goes out to you. I just lost my 10 year old terrier mix, Louie, to liver cancer 2 weeks ago. It's really scary when your beloved friend is sick.
