Default Blue Buffalo or Eukanuba Boxer breed

I have a 10 month old male boxer. Right now I have him on Blue Buffalo. He doesn't seen to be that thrilled with it.

Does anyone have an opinion on which dog food they would use? Blu Buffalo or Eukanuba Boxer breed.

I looked up both ingredients for both dog foods:

EUKANUBA
Ingredients
Chicken, Chicken By-Product Meal (Natural source of Chondroitin Sulfate and Glucosamine), Corn Meal, Ground Whole Grain Sorghum, Ground Whole Grain Barley, Chicken Fat (preserved with mixed Tocopherols, a source of Vitamin E), Natural Chicken Flavor, Brewers Rice, Dried Beet Pulp (sugar removed), Fish meal, Dried Egg Product, Brewers Dried Yeast, Potassium Chloride, Salt, Vitamins (Vitamin E Supplement, Beta-Carotene, Ascorbic Acid, Vitamin A Acetate, Calcium Pantothenate, Biotin, Vitamin B12 Supplement, Thiamine Mononitrate (source of Vitamin B1), Niacin, Riboflavin Supplement (source of Vitamin B2), Inositol, Pyridoxine Hydrochloride (source of Vitamin B6), Vitamin D3 Supplement, Folic Acid), Flax Meal, Sodium Hexametaphosphate, Fish Oil (preserved with mixed Tocopherols, a source of Vitamin E), Calcium Carbonate, Choline Chloride, Minerals (Ferrous Sulfate, Zinc Oxide, Manganese Sulfate, Copper Sulfate, Manganous Oxide, Potassium Iodide, Cobalt Carbonate), Dried Chicken Cartilage (Natural source of Chondroitin Sulfate and Glucosamine), DL-Methionine, L-Carnitine, Rosemary Extract.

BLUE BUFFALO
Deboned Lamb, Lamb Meal, Whole Ground Brown Rice, Whole Ground Barley, Oatmeal, Rye, Rice Protein Concentrate, Alfalfa, Sunflower Oil (preserved with Natural Mixed Tocopherols), Whole Carrots, Whole Sweet Potatoes, Ground Flax Seed, Menhaden Fish Meal, Sea Salt, Barley Grass, Calcium Phosphate, Dried Kelp, Dried Chicory Root (Inulin), Whole Garlic Cloves, Lecithin, Parsley, Glucosamine*, Spirulina*, Yucca Schidigera Extract , Lactobacillus Acidophilus, Bacillus Subtilis, Bifidobacterium Thermophilum, Bifidobacterium Longum, Enterococcus Faecium, Zinc Amino Acid Complex ( source of Chelated Zinc), Choline Chloride, Iron Amino Acid Complex (source of Chelated Iron ), Turmeric, Vitamin E Supplement, Manganese Amino Acid Complex (source of Chelated Manganese), Beta Carotene, Copper Amino Acid Complex (source of Chelated Copper), Potassium Amino Acid Complex (source of Chelated Potassium), Vitamin B12 Supplement, Vitamin A Supplement, Calcium Ascorbate (source of Vitamin C), Niacin, Calcium Pentothenate, Riboflavin, Folic Acid, Pyridoxine Hydrochloride, Rosemary Extract, Thiamine Hydrochloride, Potassium Iodide, Biotin, Cobalt Proteinate (source of Chelated Cobalt), Vitamin D3 Supplement, Menadione Dimethylpyrimidinol Bisulfite (source of Vitamin K Activity), Sodium Selenite.

The first ingredient in any dog food in my opinion should be a human-grade meat. Which both have. The second ingredient in Eukanuba is a by product which means it makes up a good portion of the food and that's not something I would want in my dogs food. Second ingredient in BB is another meat which is nice. The third ingredient in Eukanuba is corn which is a filler and difficult for dogs to digest. Anyhow, I like Blue Buffalo from the looks of the list. It's a bit pricey for what you get but it's better than Royal Canin or some of the other foods that are about the same price.

Considering only those two I would go with Blue Buffalo. It's probably one of the better foods you will find at Petsmart.

I believe Petco offers a food called Solid Gold which I've heard is a bit better than both choices mentioned. I personally use Blue Buffalo just because I work at petsmart, I get a great discount and it works well for my dogs. After spending $75 for a 35lb bag and having my dog get hot spots all over I figure i will stick with what works.
