The only thing she will eat is chicken and ground meat. If I try to put some dog food in there she picks it out. And she hates chicken broth, I've tried putting that on her food.

I'm guessing that only chicken and ground meat is not good for her?

it wouldn't be good for her even if she were not diabetic. you are boiling it, yes?

what does your vet suggest?

have you searched for "home cooking for diabetic dog"? or something similiar?

what kind of kibble are you using?

Alright, she will eat this:

Pasta(Complex carbohydrates)
Peas(Complex carbohydrates)
Chicken(Boiling it) or ground beef.
Tuna.

She will eat all this together. What am I missing from this diet? Fiber?

EDIT: Dog food is W/D

while I do know a lot about foods, this is definately not my area of expertise.

I believe they need a high protien & peas are not easily digested because of the hard casing on them similiar to corn. yes, more fiber is needed.

I guess you realized what crappy food the w/d is - good for you.

I have the exact same question. Diabetic dog and the only thing he'll eat has rice in it. He'll throw up if the rice isn't taken out WHICH TAKES 2 HOURS! Anyone have similar experiences? Need help here please..
