at 10 weeks she should be fed 4 times a day. what does the vet say about her weight? has she had a fecal done?

if she is eating the dry I would certainly not start giving her canned.

what are you feeding her now?

when my dog was at that age... i fed her twice a daw sometimes i split it up to four times a day.... you should check the ingredients of the food you are giving her.... its not about combining wet and dry food... the ingredients plays a large part on her health.

Default Feeding

I feed for twice a day. I ckecked the ingredient for puppy chow and i can remmebr if it said 25 grams of protien or 30. but I hear that mixing is a good idea. I actually have noticed an increase in her weight in the past few days. She has been to the vet and she has had a fecal done and she was clear of everything..Vet said her wieght was good for the type of dog she is at that age but i want to make sure thats its normal.

You could add a whole egg in her feed once a day or few times a week for more protein. She should be fed at least 4 times a day, I wet dry kibble with warm water and stir to bring up the flavor for my dogs.

I also give springtimeinc.com supplements of Joint Health and Bug Off Garlic, as I do not put chemicals into my dogs unecessarily, like fea vials, shots yearly, etc. Up to one year the puppy should receive all recommended shots and Rabi for one year, then get a 3 yrs Rabi and I only give my dogs a booster every 2 or 3 years.

If she is not eating wet kibble u an add a spoonful of canned meat to help fatten her up, keep her wormed monthly also. Keep a dog calendar posted up where you feed and have dog items. Mark everything down on it good days, bad days, wormings, vettings, etc. You can go back and know the good days what went on etc.

she isn't having a problem getting the dog to eat, she wants to put weight on it despite the fact the vet says it is fine.

dry food is much better for their teeth, it helps keep the tarter off. by making it soggy you are defeating the purpose

if the puppy chow you are feeding is Purina or something else from the grocery store or WM it is garbage. if you are feeding a quality food you don't need supplements

keep in mind that when fecals are done you may get false negatives. depending on the cycle there may be no larva present to see, so in 3 weeks you might want to take another sample in.

I was told by my vet that a puppy that young should be fed 4 times a day. THe pup will not eat more than he needs so if you offer it 4 times and he eats it every time, you know he needs that. YOu can gradually decrease to 3 times then 2 times.
