Cool Water drinking for beginner dog owner

hello all,
my husband and I adopted a four year old smooth collie a week ago. She seems to be drinking a bit water according to a trainer we took her to this afternoon. She drank close to probably 25 oz ( 800 ml?) of water at once. We fed her 45 mins prior to this and she was running in the morning with us. I did not really watch her if she drank too much to be honest after we ran her. She's around 55 lbs and I was reading I need 50 ml per pound therefore for her it would be 2750 ml so she's not drinking excessively. Other than this, she always has access to fresh water, drinks, leaves some water in her bowl and comes back to it. I'd say close to 2 liters a day. I am just concerned about the trainer's words as she suggested she might have a diabetes. her poop is definately not hard, but it is not a diarrhea either. I think it just comes back to the fact she does drink a lot of water, but is it too much? THank you for any suggestion.

i think it would be better to ask a vet's opinion than follow what your trainer tells you...

If the trainer has only seen her once or just a few times, then I doubt he/she could make a accurate conclusion. If you're worried, contact your vet.
