Default Health

I have a 12 year old Rottweiler that has started to loose weight even though he still eats the same food for almost 10 years and he still has the same appetite. In addition to that he has developed uncontrollable urineation over the past six months and it's getting very bad.

Any thoughts before I go to the vet and possibly hear bad news.

the concern I have would be the excessive urination issue. Obviously his water intake has increased. This could be due to anything from Kidney problems, to diabetes. Also could be due to a tumor. Has he been wormed lately? If he was just losing weight and no problem with urination I would not be overly concerned. It is not uncommon for senior dogs to actually lose a little weight as they get older. But increase in his urination would cause me to see a vet. Anytime a dog does not do or act as it has done for years is a sign that needs to be addressed. Time for a vet check. Good luck.
