Default I have a question about my maltese

Last friday when i left for work my maltese was fine, upon returning home I found him behind a chair with both his front paws and chest soaking wet, I then picked him up and set him on the floor beside me and he started rolling like he was out of control and couldnt stand on his back legs. After taking him to a emer vet they said it looks like something to do with his brain, he has improved, he can now walk, but stumbles to the right, coughs and gags, isnt eating very well, and hasnt had a bowel movement since friday, not bubbly like normal, any ideas on what to do?

yes, get him to your vet. I agree about the nurological problem - it sounds like a seizure or a stroke, & since the symptoms are lasting so long I'd guess the stroke.

I would only give him baby food, or pureed food - nothing he can choke on

did they not tell you to follow up right away with your vet? they should have given you the X-rays & blood results they did

you'll have to protect him from steps with baby gates

let us know what you find out

Good move you bring him to a vet...
try to follow your vet advise regarding the matter...
he knows the best for your dog...
hope your dog will get well soon...

Im sorry to here this, makes me very sad, this seems like a case of seizure, and yes dogs actually can develop this or actually they are born with it and its only idle but it does surface later on, they do have meds to control this, my question is, its been 3 months, how is your maltese doing now? what have you done so far?
