Default Apple Cider Vinegar and UTI's

My mini schnauzer was suffering from chronic UTI's (urinary tract infections). She is only 3 years old and has had numerous health problems.

Each time I took her to the vet, I was spending a fortune on visits, diagnostic testing and then more antibiodics. No one can seem to figure out why she is getting these infections. She would be constantly licking herself until her little private area was red and sore! She would yelp when urinating and I could just tell that she did not feel well. This was happening for about 4-5 months.

The antibiodics seemed to work, but then after a few weeks, she would get another UTI. I did some research and discovered that a solution to my problem could be ACV.

About 3 months ago, I started giving my schanzuer a tsp of ACV each morning in her kibble. I water the tsp down as I assume it probably tastes bitter. She eats it no problem...but the best part is, that since I started her on the ACV, she hasn't had another UTI!

Before I started her on it, I read numerous testimonials from people who say that ACV works. So far, it has really helped my little fur baby!

It's wonderful that it helped her so much. It's probably the acid in the vinegar that is helping keep the bacteria down. My kids wouldn't get within ten feet of a spoon of vinegar. So we use dried cranberries as a snack or mixed in their food at least once a week. So far we have had zero UTI problems here.

I had a foster come in with a UTI and after two days on the cranberry treatment it went completely away...

It's always good to keep with natural and less harmful old remedies IMO.

Good Job!!

Are you buying fresh cranberries and drying them yourself, or are you using cranberries that have already been dried?

I am giving my schnauzer a tsp of ACV with her kibble in the morning, but I do have to add water and I also give her a very small amount of cut up boiled chicken with it as well. I'm pretty sure that without those little extras, she wouldn't take the ACV, so I would love to try the cranberries as an alternative sometimes.

One of the down sides to giving her ACV is that it can make her little beard pretty stinky!

Wow, I didn't know that ACV could cure a dog's UTI. That's amazing!
