Default Westie under the weather

Our dear Westie has had diarrhea as of yesterday. It stopped late in the day when she passes a regular bowel movement. She will not eat; was up most of the night with restlessness. She is still not eating today and follows my sister everywhere. We have an appointment with the doctor tonight. Could it be something she ate? I was rubbing her tummy last night; stomach growling constantly. She closed her eyes and liked having her tummy rubbed. Any thoughts on what might be wrong?

I've been asking the same question about my puppy, who has also had this for the past two night. From what I read suggestions are to not give them any food until they no longer have diarrea (24-48 hrs) That allows there bowel momements to get back to normal, but give plenty of fluids as diarrea causes dehydration. Also it is recommened to give them broth which keeps there sodium etc.. levels up. Apparently diarrea is common for dogs but yes it could be something she ate thats not agreeing with her. Anyways I'm giving this a try with my dog so hopefully this could be of some help to you. Good Luck!
