about 2 weeks ago i noticed my 2 year old maltese-poodle, who is spade a year ago was constantly licking her vaginal area...i took her to the vet right away and she was put on an antibiotic for 10 days...we finished that, this past wed....and the licking has considerably subsided...However, last night and tonight, i noticed very little bleeding coming from the vagina, she would lay down the comforter and get up and leave a spot of blood about the size of a quarter...i have noticed no behavioral change...anyone know what this could be??

I would check again with the vet, as it could be a urinary tract infection that the antibiotics may not have completely taken care of. We had a female Rottweiller who, even though she was on antibiotics, had to go through three different medications, and about two months worth of treatment before it finally was gone. Good luck!
