Does anyone know if a dog can be given gravol or pepto-bismol for diarrea. Just for the time being until able to see a vet???

never heard of the first one but pepto bismol can be used which I just told you in your other thread. about 2 T per 10#'s, or canned pumpkin.

the important thing is that you have to find out what is causing the diarrhea

as Sue noted, it is best to first find out what is causing it. Pumpkin will generally help diarrhea if food related but with girardia and coccidia it will not help and this requires medication. Your best bet is to take a stool sample (fresh) to the vet and ask them to check for parasites. The longer the delay the more chance the dog will become dehydrated and could become more of a serious issue.
Good Luck.
