I use "Wellness" brand for my dog, she is a nine year old German Shepherd, and she does well on it. She had skin problems, so I started the Wellness Fish and Sweet Potato and haven't had any more problems. It is human quality ingredients, and one of only a few dog foods that weren't affected by the recent dog food recalls. They have several other formulas as well, such as senior, puppy and many others. I am happy with it and will continue to use it for any other dogs we have in the future. You can read about the food if you just type in Wellness Dog food into google or some other search engine to find the main website. It is made by or distributed by Old Mother Hubbard. Good luck, and hope this helps.

not quite sure what you mean by "natural"

you can google holistic dog food which are all human grade foods. another good place to learn alot about ingredients is the "natura" site. just google it.

the majority of the problems with the recalled food was because of the corn molding, so since the holistic foods have no corn or gluten they were pretty much ok

Default The best all natural senior dog food

My Vet recommended Grandma Z's Senior Formula for my 6 year old Lab. He not only moves better, he is much more active. His coat looks better too. I have since recommended the same Grandma Z's food to some other dog owners who say that it has worked really well. You can order it online right now for pretty cheap...as far premium dog food goes. The only place I could find it on the web was Zamzows | Home

i used to work in a holistic pet food store AND I have a very sensitive stomached 13 year old and 17 year old.

I fed Chicken Soup for the Senior Dog Lover's Soul. Not only is it free from fillers and crap, it has the most glucosamine and chondroitin of any commercial dog kibble that I've seen. That's particularly important for the 17 year old - if she doesn't get enough, her joints start audibly clicking. No problems since using CS. It's also nice because it does NOT have probiotics, which, since your dog is this old and never had them before, could wreak havoc with your dog's system until he gets adjusted to them (VERY slow kibble switch).

Try Nutro Ultra, Innova, Innova Evo has no grains in it what so ever mainly just meat has a high protein content in it for high enery dogs, and Eagle Pack.
