My australian shepherd Echo has had a hoarse bark for about a week and It doesnt sound like its getting better.She seems to feel ok nothing else has changed just her bark.She is 5 years old.

Small amounts of honey will help w/ a sore throat and dogs really love honey as meds

Check with the vet, the dog could have an allergy or eaten something that caused the sore throat. Sometimes, as dogs get older, their barks become hoarse, just part of the aging process. But five seems a bit young for that to be the issue. I would check with the vet to make sure that there is nothing she has gotten into that may have caused injury to her throat. Best wishes.

if the honey is not effective then i suggest you bring your dog to the vet. You never know if its a serious problem or just a simple sore throat...
