dry cracked nose/sinus issues
my dog is having some really intense sinus issues. her nose is cracked and dry. (border collie). and she sounds like she needs to blow her nose. i got homeopathic drops for sinuses and now am giving amoxycillin. she is eating fine, but pretty weak. i have no money at all to get to a vet, so i'm hoping someone out there has seen this before. it's like she has allergies. no coughing. no bloody nose. and the appetite is great. anything?

Is your dog playing in anything that might be causing this problem?

probably you should observe your dog and find what the cause...and searched to google what was that and find the cure...as of we are not professional to answer that...we can only give some advise that we thought could help you...

vets
well, she may have lymphoma, but i'll know for sure early next week. but that really isn't what's making her nose all stuffed up. so we're treating her with antibiotics and prednisone. this is day 2 of the meds. she is still having a hard time breathing through her nose. but she is eating a little more. she is so weak. the vet thought i brought her in because of her glands being swollen. but it was because she couldn't breath and was so weak. the glands didnt' get big until she got sick. time will tell. she is such a sweet and good girl. oh, and the fee? $188 that is my budget for all my girls (i have two cats as well). so i pray my cats dont' get ill. but this is 2008 - and so far it has not gone all that well.

it will cost $130 to put her down. i do not have that money. i am trying to sell some jewelry to get it. it just seems unfair that after i've paid nearly $200, to get her peace i have to find more money. so much for humane. this is horrible. absolutely horrible. i don't want to be home anymore.

a very good friend gave me the money that i needed. molly was diagnosed last monday and she died on saturday. during the night, i woke to hearing her struggle to breath. i wish that at 3:30 in the morning, there would be a vet somewhere to help. she suffered until 9 am. it was hell. thank you all for listening. i no longer have a dog so i doubt i'll be posting here. God bless all of you.

I am doing the best that I can be. It's only been 2 years since I lost my cat of 14 years. I don't think there is any pain quite like losing a pet. I've lost my parents, one brother, and sad to say, I did not fall apart like I do over a pet. I really loved my family, but with a pet.. I don't know. my kids are taking it quite hard. they are adults, but molly was a huge presence in our home. I have 2 cats who are not doing well. They are very upset. They loved their dog, and they all played quite a bit. The one cat slept with her and she is truly distressed. I orderd star of bethlehem oil for them and hope it helps. It just happened so fast. 3 weeks ago my dog was healthy and happy. And i really miss her protection. she really watched out for me. thank you so much for understanding. there are not a lot of people who understand this connection. we'll be alright. but right now this really sucks.

I am here to say that I've done it again! I adopted a new puppy! She is a mini-australian shepherd and I'll post her pic soon. She is now 10 weeks old, and I must say that if you haven't had a puppy for a while, and you are now say like 50 years old, think about it. I have never been so tired. She is explosive with energy but fortunately, drops like a rock in about 20 minutes. wow. Her name is Kip. (my mom's nickname in college). I adore her.:-D

I'm so glad you decided to bring a new little bundle of energy/joy/terror (the last said tongue in cheek, as I know how puppies can be) into your life. May you have years of happiness together.
