Default Stinky Loose Poop

Hi everyone. My 8 month old male English bulldog has HORRIBLY stinky loose stools. They have almost a sour smell to them. Any idea what might be causing this? We haven;t changed his food, he gets no table scraps and only 1 treat per day. We are taking him to the vet on Wednesday but I wanted to do some additional research in the mean time. Thanks in advance!

Exclamation Common Causes of Loose Stool

No need to even go to the Vet (you're wasting money)... trust me.

Loose Stool - Common Causes:
  • Food Allergy
    • Avoid Soy, Corn, Grains, and test out Protein sources
  • Stress
  • Too Much Food (over feeding)
  • Roundworms (visibly noticeable)
    • Go to a local PETCO or pet-shop and pick up some De-Wormer medication for like $6.
  • Change in Diet (24 - 48 hours)
Try these awesome foods!

HIGH PROTEIN (found at most small business pet stores or online)

Orijen www.championpetfoods.com (this is what I feed, dogs love it!)
EVO www.naturapet.com
Solid Gold www.solidgold.com
Tase of the Wild www.tasteofthewildpetfood.com

MEDIUM PROTEIN (can be found at most PETCOs)

Natural Balance www.naturalbalanceinc.com
Blue Buffalo www.bluebuff.com
HALO www.halopets.com
Wellness www.wellnesspetfood.com

Your dog may just have lack of nutrients in the diet. Try a better product and see if you notice the difference. I always avoid By-Products, Soy, Corn, and Grains. Then some of my dogs have allergies (some to Chicken some to Red Meat) so that will be trial and error.

GOOD DIET = FIRM STOOL NON-FOUL SMELL

Thanks for the information. He has been eating Natural Balance but we switched him to Wellness Super 5 Mix because we suspected he had a chicken allergy. My guess is it is worms. Thanks again!

One last question. Will I need to de-worm my 3 year old dog too?
