Default Advice Needed

Hello Everyone,

I came home today after school and my 7 month old maltepoo's face was soaking wet. All of the hair underneath his chin was soaked. He was in his crate, so at first I thought he urinated and put his face in it, but after close examination I determined that it wasn't urine. Could it be that he slobbered so much that it drenched his chin hair? I took his temperature (rectal) to make sure he wasn't suffering from heat exhaustion, his temperature was 100.6 I took his to his water bowl and he didn't drink any. Has this happened to anyone?

Also, I called our local vet and they said that it could have just been slobber because of the heat. I live in Southern California. His crate was inside and I left the windows open, and my living room stays pretty cool. Please, any suggestions are appreciated.

Thank you for your time!

Exclamation Slobbery Chin

Seperation Anxiety & Fear

When dogs are at the highest level of fear they lock their jaws and do not swallow. This creates a waterfall effect of drool. If it is not redirected after a long period of time some dogs are capable of covering their whole front bodies with drool. Yuck, right?

I have a maltese and she does it when we go on long drives.
it is anxiety, leave the dog treats or toys when you leave your malte-poo
dont forget, maltese and poodles are famous for the drooling.
