My nine year old Corgi is currently in heat. My four-year old unneutered male Mastiff is beside himself! He won't stop pacing, hasn't eaten for three days, and can't relax. He is usually so laid back that this has really thrown me for a loop. Is this normal behavior for an unneutered male...especially the non-eating?

We have had both dogs since the Mastiff was brought home as a puppy, so why would it have taken him four years to suddenly be interested in my Corgi during her heat cycle?

It may not be because your corgi is in heat. Your best bet is taking him to a vet. This sounds alot like bloating, which is the twisting of the stomach after gastric distention occurs. Mastiffs are highly prone to it because of their deep, broad chest. I suggest contacting your vet immediately, considering this condition can be fatal if left untreated.
