hello,
so i have a short haired brown daschund .
he's a male, and he's probably around 9
human years old . he's not fat . and is
actually pretty small for a daschund, although
i don't think he's a miniture either . just small .

anyways lately, he's been acting strange .
usually he has a lot of energy and likes to
jump around and run, but now it's like i'm
even questioning if he's my dog. he's just
so different .

it probably was a week ago when my dad picked
him up to greet him, and he started crying (you
know making those high pitch noises that dogs
make when they cry) . he was in pain and could
not lift up his neck . he just lies down and some-
times makes a soft crying noise . but then other
times he's sorta fine . just walking around and
eating normally . but still not the same . we are
giving him "Nutri-Vet K-9 Aspirin Chewables for
Small dogs" right now . i guess it's kinda working
but is not curing him ? at night he sleeps in his
cage down stairs and we usually put him out
in the morning and it's not difficult at all to let
him out (probably cause he needs to eat/pee lol)
but now it's like . what's wrong with you ? he
doesn't make eyecontact with me . doesn't get
all happy/excited . when he stands it's like his
back is higher arched . he stares at the floor
and sniffs at it . and walks back and forth . i lift
him up to look at him, but he doesn't look back
at me . i'm so sad ! i don't know what to do .
someone please help . i really appreciate it !

Get him in to see the vet right away-- like tomorrow/Friday. He is suffering because of whatever is wrong with him.

as Dachshunds are prone to spinal issues in disc's it sounds like there may be a slipped disc in the neck. Not uncommon. This will cause low grade pain and discomfort. You do need a vet to check this out either way so to ensure that what ever it is is treated properly before it gets worse.

Definitely get him to the vet ASAP. Herniated discs can lead to paralysis, and Dachshunds are prone to them. They are also prone to pancreatitis, which is extremely painful, and can be fatal if left untreated. There are also a number of other things that could be wrong. And your dog is obviously suffering. So get to the vet, find out what's wrong, and treat accordingly.

we went to one vet place but
then they were closed . so we
went to another one . the lady
said that there was no "dog vet"
in anymore . so we made an
appointment today . but we had
to cancel since we were busy and
had to go somewhere . so we'll
go tomorrow . i'm really hoping
this won't resort to surgery though .
