Default Nose dry and warm

I've heard that a dog's nose should always feel wet and cold. But lately my dog's nose has felt warm (room temperature, not hot) and is dry to the touch. It's not dry inside-- though-- she still has some mucus in there. Other than that, my dog appears healthy, happy, and energetic. Her coat looks good and is soft. She looks in perfect health, it's just the nose I'm curious about. Any information/guidance you can give me would be appreciated, thanks.

A dog's nose is cold and wet because they have ducts that drain excess tears from their eyes into their nasal passages. Ever notice that a sleeping dog's nose is often dry? That's because the eyes aren't producing a lot of tears while the dog is asleep.

One reason she might have a dry nose is blocked tear ducts. Another reason would be dry eye; a condition where the eyes don't produce enough tears. Have your vet check it out. Dry eye will eventually lead to blindness if you don't treat it.

Vetgroomer covered it perfectly. This is something the vet should check to be sure.

Hey, thanks for the response. I will definitely mention that to the vet. Otherwise, my dog appears to be in perfect health, so this is not something that would tip off someone who doesn't know any better. Thanks for the "heads-up."
