Unhappy Sneezing Lab

I have a 2 1/2 year old Lab/mix that has started sneezing, about 2 nights ago he woke us up 3amish in a fit of sneezes, he went back to sleep and when we got up in the morning he was doing it again,

he has been having a fit of sneezes for about 2 days now, not all day, i notice he has been up during the night alot more too, usually he sleeps right through, but he has woken me up a few times with his sneezing,

It seems to be more when he gets excited ( we talk to him, or he's moving around, playing ect) when he is just laying down for the most part the sneezing seems to stop.
It is not reverse sneezing though, its a normal sneeze.

He was in a Kennel for 2-3 days about a week ago,
also we have not changed anything in our house..and his behavour is normal., eating drinking, playing.

I'm wondering if maybe he just has a bit of a dog flu?
if there is anyone who has experienced this, or what i can do for him?
Maybe he just has an irritated nose?
any help is very greatful!

Our dog has been "sneezy" ever since we got her, 5 years ago. We adopted her from the shelter, and at that time she did have a case of Kennel Cough. She got over that, and we continue to get her the bordetella vaccine every year, to prevent another, and to protect other dogs. But as for the sneezing: We live in a high allergen area-- a lot of construction residue in the air, blowing into the house, a lot of dust, and a lot of high allergen plants and grasses (we also had a cat, that has since passed on). It doesn't matter whether she's indoors or out. Our whole family has allergies. When we first noticed she was sneezing a lot, even after recovering from kennel cough, we asked the vet-- he wasn't concerned, saying most likely she either got something up her nose, or she could be allergic to something in the air. Other than her sneezing, she shows no sign of illness-- she's a very healthy dog.

Thanks for the post!

my mum was reading an article that a vet had written, Apperently its common for dogs to get the sneezes after being borded in a kennel or around alot of other dogs, and my dog was in a boarding place just over a week ago, so i'm starting to think its just that, or he has something in his nose, this article said it should clear up in about 2 weeks, so as long as he is feeling ok other wise i think im going to leave it and see , he has a bit of a runny nose but its clear liquid, im thinking its probably just from sneezing so much, there is no funny coloured stuff at all.

fingers crossed its nothing seriouse!

I never went to the vet because he is acting perfectly normal, other then the sneezing, he actually ran away yesterday and ran back to the kennel he stayed 2 weekends ago, i asked them about it, and they told me that it was really normal for him to be sneezing, alot of dogs that go there end up sneezing for a while because they don't ahve any grass, its all dirt, and gravel so there is alot of dust around ( and cyrus isn't used to that either), so i guess his nose probably got irritated, causing the sneezing, he seems to be getting better though, not sneezing so much so whatever it is, it is clearing up

I try and avoid the vet so much as possible, ofcourse if he was real sick or needed to go i'd take him. they are just to pricey for everything.and half the time just tell me what i already know.. anyways! he is doing much better now
