Default Any Suggestions

Hey i just started on here and i was wonder if anyone could give me some information on why my dog is so picky on her food. I have a peek-a-poo and i have tried almost every dog food out there and she doesnt like any of them. There was two kinds of food she ate for a while and then she just wont eat them anymore. I have even tried cat food and she like it but its not good for dogs to eat cat food. So anyone have any suggestions. I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks

Default ask the vet

DO NOT FEED YOUR DOG CAT FOOD. It is EXTREMELY bad for their health. I have a friend who has a Great Dane that has the same problem and there isn't really anything you can do except ask your vet.

well i suggest you to do trial and error thing when it comes with the food of your dog..for ex. feed them with bones, if they don't like it, try to feed them another one..

Yeah i dont let my dog eat cat food. I have asked to vet about it and they said a little wont hurt but not to feed it to her like you would on a regular feedings...but i havent been feeding her any lately..i brought some wet dog food and mixed it with her dry and she ate a little and then just didnt wont any..so i try to feed her by hand and she ate more..but she isnt acting sick or anything she just a normal playful lovable dog she just really picking with food.. so im going to try to find a dog food she likes.. Thanks for you comment back..

Well i have got her some little bones from the store and she like it..but i wont feed her any chicken bones or anything cause that can cause it isnt good for dogs.. but once they get so big i have to take them always cause she tries to eat then whole...I have been able to give her doggy snacks and she eat them really well....Sometimes when she eats ...its seems like she dont even chew her food so i always got to brake her treats up when i do give it to her.. thanks for you comment

My dog sometimes has that problem as well. I just walk him a good while to fix that. The problem many times is a dog doesn't burn enough energy to feel the need to eat. They have reserves in their stored calories, and until those are spent, they won't be motivated for more than some tasty hors d'oeuvres. Peke-a-poo, try five brisk blocks an hour prior to feeding. If that works, then you're pretty sure it's a matter of her daily exercise needs.

I have the perfect solution. I had the same problem with my cocker spaniel. She was very picky and she would only eat after she was totally starved. I hated the fact that she was eating because she had to not because she wanted to.

So I found a vitamin gravy that I would put on top of her dry dog food. Just a few drops sprinkled over her food make her jump to her feet when ever it was feeding time. The gravy does not have a lot of calories and is full of vitamins. I'm sorry I don't have the name but you can probably do a search for vitamin gravy for dogs.

Hope this help!

If the dog is hungry the dog will eat. That is the way it is supposed to be. They wont get hungry enough to eat if you are giving them treats. Just like children.
