Default worms worms worms oh my

Kip has (had?) hookworms and roundworms. common in a puppy. i gave her the medicine and she is due in another couple weeks for more. she had thrown up what i call a plate of spaghetti...that moved. anyway, i gave her medicine on saturday. today is thursday and i noticed one of those little monsters in her bowel movement. would they still be coming out??? it's beginning to freak me out. i want to cuddle her and snuggle, but now am a bit paranoid about worms.

So how long has it been since she started the meds?
You should be careful, hookworms are easily spread to people so you might want to get yourself checked, or if you have sores or little cut like things on your feet that could be from hookworms, they usually go in through feet.

You have to take your dog to the vet. Your dog needs medicine to get rid of the worms. This is very serious so please take your dog to the vet.

I agree with the others, if you're using OTC wormers (which generally work), I'd opt to go to the vet and get drontal. What you should be seeing is dead worms not live ones, so obviously your wormer is not working effectively.

I guess I wasn't very specific. I did take her to the vet and she is on a 12 week aggressive treatment program. She had her second treatment on Saturday. And there are still worms coming out. When I spoke to the vet, they said that is what happens and will for a while longer. She goes for her booster on Friday (the 14th) so I will address this issue again. Now that the leaves have fallen, it's next to impossible to find her "doodie" to get it out of the yard. So I kind of keep track and lead her to a different spot in the yard. That being said, when do puppies stop that constant biting thing? Seriously. Her mouth is open all the time.

Hi
I hope the worms are starting to clear up. Re the above it can be many, many months before they stop wanting to chew you or other things. Our first pup here in Spain was unstoppable, so much so that we got our second dog earlier than we were going to. It was great though they just played and bit each other and stopped biting us. An extreme method but worked fantastically well.

Otherwise I guess you just need to wait a few months until all the final set of teeth are through and not making the dogs mouth sore.
