Your dog needs to go the the vet RIGHT AWAY!! Call poison control for pets also (on your way to the vet if you can). Chemicals an be toxic and poisoning cannot be treated at home. Here is the number for poison control for pets (800)548-2423

Hand sanitizers are gelled alcohol, in the range of 60-65%. That's like drinking 120-130 proof liquor. Your puppy is drunk! Depending on how much he ingested (and at his size, it wouldn't take much), he's either sobered up, or he's dead from alcohol poisoning by now.

I hope he's sober!

If you really can't take him to a vet then the best you can do is feed him a lot and have him drink a bunch of water in hopes of diluting it. Good luck mate. Keep us posted.

Let him drink a lot of water with sugar.I've tried it before and it worked.

Any update?

My dog will never lick a hand sanitizer, they hate it... specially the ones with strong smells.

If it was just a little bit - on your hands or something it might be ok. Water Water Water... Obviously it's a little too late for that advice however Hope all is well. Dogs have eaten MUCH worse and survived.
