Exclamation Dog ate field dressing

I have a 8 month old German Shepherd/Black Lab mix. We live in the middle of a state forest that allows hunting. I'm fairly certain that he ate most of if not all of a field dressing, (thank you hunters) yesterday. He ralphed quite a bit up in my living room. He doesn't seem to be aware that he's eaten or is full. Anyway, he ralphed about 5 times yesterday, today he's walking funny. Like his hind legs are drunk. He's had all his shots, I'll call the vet tomorrow but thought someone might be able to make me sleep better.

The internal organs discarded when field dressing a deer should not cause that serious of a reaction. Even if they were rotten. Yes, they might cause some gastric upset, and probably diarrhea, because they're pretty rich and because your dog isn't used to eating them. I would suspect something else is going on.

By the way, what exactly do you think hunters are going to do when they field dress an animal? Even if they bury the offal, a dog or wild animal is just going to dig them up, unless they're buried 6 feet deep.
