Default Can human Vit-K be used in place of dog Vit-K1?

my dog got ahold of a dead mouse who had eaten mouse poison. i took him to the vet and they treated him and sent us home with Vit K-1 25mg and said i needed to give it to him for 2 months. i've gone through one bottle at $42 a bottle... and was wondering if i could use human vitamin k instead? thanks for any input.

That's a question you should ask your vet. Or perhaps ask him to test your dogs clotting factors first, to see if he requires further treatment.

Absolutely NOT! Steroids are hormones that have several functions in the body, and your body produces them as needed, if you're healthy. Depending on which one is involved, they can reduce inflammation, regulate sexual development, regulate the secretion of salt and water through the kidneys, regulate events during pregnancy, and a host of other things.

Vitamin K is, well, a vitamin. It's used to produce clotting factors in the blood as well as the synthesis of certain proteins in blood plasma, the kidneys and bone. Unlike steroids, vitamin K is not produced in the body. You get it from the foods you eat.
