Exclamation Is this poisonous to dogs? Urgent

I've noticed in the last week we have a lot of Holly Bushes around our Apartment buildings and I caught my female pup trying to eat the little red berries but I used the leave it command and she did

I got her to leave them but are those poisonous to dogs?

If they are should they really have those bushes around a "Dog Friendly" apartment complex (that is how they advertise)

I hope they aren't but I heard somewhere they were. I don't want to see the dogs in the community get sick

If they are toxic what should we do other than keep them away from them. Should we mention it to the complex (though they are proud of the there plants) becuase they advertise as being the most pet friendly complex in the county but the pets could be getting sick (there have been a lot of sick dogs lately we heard

I can't wait to move I don't feel like our pets are safe here....for that reason and the people that live here aren't very nice and there kids are awful toward animals)

Yes, holly berries are toxic. In humans, ingesting them can cause nausea, vomiting and diarrhea. But holly berries and leaves contain theobromine, the same thing that makes chocolate toxic for dogs. So it's best for dogs and cats to avoid these plants altogether.

Yes they are. Vets see a lot of toxicity cases around the holidays caused by Holly (I used to work for a vet).

I would bring it up with your apartment complex. Its possible that they just dont realize its toxic.

You can check this link to see if any of those plants are poisonous to your pets.
