I have read to mix equal parts pumpkin and plain yogurt--only thing--not sure if you add the yogurt for both diarrhea and constipation or just 1 of these problems and if only for 1--which 1?? Most dogs are suppose to like the taste of pumpkin--mine kind of do but you could try adding bits of cooked chicken (no fat--only make the diarrhea worse probably) Also I think the yogurt helps(if it is for the diarrhea!---Hey help me out here about the yogurt if you know the answer)!! ( See my posting for homemade yogurt if interested--under nondog section) Yogurt is good for dogs the same way it is good for people--only problem is I don't like it.(for me that is) My dogs also get vinegar mixed in w/their minced veggies--good for them--reason I mention it is I think it is good for gas and helps maybe w/ stomach problems--but as far as helping w/diarrhea (in long run anyway) I don't really know--anybody else know more on the vinegar? So as you can see my dogs are use to 'sour' and like yogurt too.

Agree! Adding a spoon of plain pumpkin is great for that. Yogurt is good too but it has to be plain natural yogurt. I don't think you have to mix the 2, I know several who've fed just the bit of pumpkin and it worked great!

Default Pumpkin in dog cookies

When I make homemade dog cookies I always include pumpkin. It is a great way to get them something to help digestion and they like the taste.

I use this recipe and used fresh pumpkin instead of canned. I kept the insides of our jack-o-lanterns from Halloween and froze them.
