Okay so my boxer Koby, who we just rescued a month ago, started having bad Diarrhea about a week ago. So we took him to the vet on Friday, they put him on Metro (anti D meds) and did a fecal. Got the results of the fecal on Saturday and he has hookworms He had a fecal done soon after we adopted him and it came back negative and he hasnt been around any infected dogs. Its possible though that he got the worms from the shelter and they just hadnt spread enough to show up on a fecal.

Okay so we are feeding him boiled chicken and rice (he's been eating that since Friday) because the vet said a bland diet for a 4-7 days. Im sure its just the rice but he didnt poop at all on Saturday until about 11 pm that night. Now its Monday at 11 am and he hasnt pooped since Saturday.

Now Im not sure what to do because I cant give him medicine for constipation because he's on meds for Diarrhea. The only thing I can think of is to cut the rice out of the next meal and see if it helps

Are you still giving the Metro? If so, you might want to stop--that could be the problem--too much anti-diarrhea meds. Call the vet and let them know as well.

I didnt give him the metro today. Since he has hookworms, it was that that was causing the D, and he's on a de-wormer.

Hopefully, he'll have a movement soon. I'd talk with the vet, just to touch base and see what he/she thinks.
