Exclamation Zackie is sick again......it seems....keep him in your thoughts

okay the vet diagnosed my 1 year old poodle with Pancreatitis (Though I'm getting a second opinion because a lot of things don't add up and they didn't take much time with him to figure this out and we've been treating him but he just keeps getting worse)

Anyways he is now having flaire ups about every 6 weeks. He was first diagnosed with Acute Pancreatitis and he was fine after that for about 5 months but then it came back and its been pretty much every six weeks.

He then goes in for fluids, anti diahrea medicine, and an antibiotic (for whatever little thing he has picked up as well)

I'm getting a second opinion.

Chances are he is going to have to go to the vet this week. I'm going to watch him today but if he starts vomiting he goes straight to the vet.

(He may just have a bit of an upset tummy but Chances are its this again and we are going to the vet)

He has been very moody the last few days, and now the runny poops, next would most likely be vomiting

I'm just so exhausted over this and I just want him to feel better

I don't think its pancreatitis....I really don't not enough adds up

We are getting a second opinion because I don't trust my vet and all I got from it was they tested his liver (Not his pancreas)

Didn't do any fancy tests just basic blood work

They went on and on about his liver enzymes being elevated and that that meant pancreatitis

And 300 dollars every 6 weeks is killing us we don't have it

So I want to make sure that this is really what it is and we aren't just bandaging a different problem and treating the wrong thing

So if he starts vomiting off to the new vet we go

Chances are he is going to have to go to the vet this week. I'm going to watch him today but if he starts vomiting he goes straight to the vet.

(He may just have a bit of an upset tummy but Chances are its this again and we are going to the vet)

He has been very moody the last few days, and now the runny poops, next would most likely be vomiting

Don't get me wrong he is the best dog in the world and I'll find away to make enough money to treat him but I'm tired and scared

Just be keeping Zackie in your thoughts and prayers

Thank you.

Chances are we will be seeing the new vet tomorrow (if not sooner)

((((Puppylove))))

I know the heartache of having a sick dog and dealing with the vet bills. We don't want it to come down to money but reality is that money is a factor. Last year with all I went through with Libby, I kept telling the vet that I didn't want money to factor into the equation. Reality is, if the vet hadn't been so wonderful and discounted treatments/services and done some services for free I don't know what I would have done. As it is, five months after Libby's death, I'm still trying to recover from the financial and emotional strain.

I know you hate the spend the money but you wanted a second opinion anyway so I'd just go ahead, bite the bullet, and make an appointment with another vet.

I also think you need to consult a canine nutritionist to determine what you can do with diet and supplementation to give your baby the best quality of life possible. I know, that's more money, but getting Zackie on the right diet now can save you major $$$ in vet bills down the road. A lady that I respect (but haven't used her services yet) is Cat and you can contact her through her website: The Possible Canine.

I'll be keeping you and Zackie in my prayers.

Thanks.

Yes we are taking him to the new vet.

I hate that money has to be a factor...but I'd rather spend it now and get him healthy then it get worse and we be in a world of hurt down the road.

Thank you for the tip
