Question Carrots, ect: Raw Diets?

Pearl is sorta overweight.
Feeding her carrots and other veggies is a good diet for her, right?
What about stuff like rice and bread? :???:

If your pet has no health problems, i would feed a weight control dogfood along with chopped vegetables such as green beans, brocolli, celery, go easy on the carrots, carrots are ok for treats high in sugar content.

Brown rice is good.

If you are planning a homecooked diet with no dogfood then you need to supplement diet with a vitamin and other supplements, the dogfoods already have these in them, so adding the vegetables along with some cooked meat would work.

If your pet won't eat veg's add to food and pour some unsalted broth over the food, when cooking the meat save the broth.

Veggies are good for dogs in moderation.

Have you looked into a totally raw diet? Much healthier then cooked diets and most dry foods and no artificial supplements (or any supplements at all, for that matter) need to be added. With a raw diet most dogs will also have more energy, poop less, have less smelly poops, smell less altogether, be more energetic, have less health problems, live longer and cost less to keep. It will also help her drop the weight.

I feed my dog raw carrot and he loves it. He also likes it if we put a few cooked peas in his dinner. Try that.

Just want to say here: Raw vegetables are great (I feed them every day) BUT in case some people don't know---They must be ground (NOT CHOPPED) very fine. (use a mini food processor and "scrape down" several times) Dogs can not digest and get the nutrients unless this is done--to break down the celulose walls of the veggies. If you don't break them down, the veggies go straight through with no benefit---carrots for example will be very noticable in the poop if not pulverized before feeding!!
