nausea/vomiting
My dog is a full breed Boston terrier, we got her at 8 weeks old. She came to us with blood in her stool and we were told it was stress, and change in diet. At about 6 months old she started spitting out her treats during training and vomiting and having diarrhea. We have been through lab tests and different meds. Everything is always negative. She acts normal otherwise, but hard to house train. Now at 17 months she still has some flares and is only taking wet z/d prescription food. She is very thin and eats 2 cans a day. She like to chew things and that started at a year, but never found it in her stool. She recently had a diarrhea flare than a couple weeks later a vomiting flare and has urination accidents in my bed which is a new thing. X-ray show us that she has these tiny small white granules or spots if you will through out her entire GI tract. What is wrong with my dog? Please help....

What does the vet say the granules or spot's are? Has she been checked for parasites?
Please post to this Dr. he is a vet and can probably help you. It cost's nothing, you only need to register to post... Please keep us posted on your pup.

similar
My dog is going through something very similar. However, this just started about a month ago, unless you include a much milder incident that occurred on Christmas, and my dog is 5 years old. I joined this forum just to get some information (see posting Sick and searching in Florida). My dog (Kayla) is currently on prescription z/d dry food as well. I have to give her small amounts. It seems if she eats too much, she throws it up. We are waiting for some cultures to come back tomorrow (fungal and fecal). They also did a digestion panel to check tha pancreas. If they dont show anything, we are set for an endoscopy. However user Vetgroomer gave some good advice about a barium series. It is where they inject the dog with barium and do an an x-ray, that way they can better see a blockage better. I am going to talk to my vet about this tomorrow and will try to repost with what he says.
Just as a side note, what was your dog eating before he got sick? I am just searching not only for what is wrong with Kayla, but also what caused it.
I wish you the best!

I once had a friend whose dog had Canine Crones disease. Sounds VERY similar!

We don't inject the barium. It's given by mouth. Then we take x-rays at intervals to see how quickly the barium travels through the digestive tract, if there are narrow spaces that could indicate a tumor or something that's stuck but not completely blocking the gut, or if the barium backs up and doesn't go all the way through, that would indicate a complete blockage.
For some reason, some dogs will vomit the barium, then completely recover from their GI upset. That happened with one of my Dachshunds. We got the first x-ray done, and he promptly vomited the barium. Within 5 minutes he was acting like he felt better. He completely recovered from whatever was causing the GI upset within 24 hours.

Small white granules signify that your dog has UTI or urinary tract infection. She needs antibiotics for treatment that are prescribed by the vet. They will probably need to culture a urine specimen to determine which antibiotic to use. Any updates?
