Default Cooked Eggplant

Does anyone know if cooked eggplant is alright for dogs to eat? I've never used in in my girls homemade food before and wanted to make sure it was safe for them to have.

I just put the words: cooked eggplant/dogs in my browser and it brought up quite a few sites to go into . There may be some difference of opinion on this (I didn't take the time to read it all--just scanned some of it. What I did see is that it is prob. not a good idea--can irritate the stomach and make arthritis worse---may be other reasons too--I don't know. Eggplant is in the same family with tomatoes and peppers. Please put the words I mentioned in your browser. Firstly you will be surprised that one of the sites given has to do with you posting this post! And there is some good info in some of these sites given, esp. this one--Home-Prepared Cooked Diets for Dogs

Default Thanks Corky/Max.

What a dummy I am. I never even thought of google! I read quite a few of the entries and I don't think the eggplant is worth the risk. I'll try and find a neighbour to give it to. There must be someone out there who knows how to do interesting things with it...
