Default Tick Rookie

Hi All!

New to the whole forum thing, but desperate for some help! Live in Western NY and just returned from vacation in the OBX, NC. Brought our beloved Old English Sheepdog, Rooney who had lots of fun romping in the sand and water. Since our return, I have found 3 ticks on him. All have come off very easily, however today's was engorged. I have bathed him and gone over him with a fine tooth comb and can't find anything else. Could this be from the sand? Is it possible it's an isolated inncodent? I'm sooo grossed out. Never have seen one. YUCK! Thoughts?
