Default sores on top of my dog's head

Hi, I am new here, hoping to find an answer to my Jack Russell's problem. She is 4 years old and this is her 2nd year with seasonal allergies. She has also developed sores on top of her head. Her vet is waiting to see if this is due to the allergies or more of an infection. Has anyone experienced anything like this? I would greatly appreciate any input.

Hi and welcome! I also have a JRT but thankfully she has always enjoyed perfect health (fingers crossed for luck). I'm by no means the most knowledgeable person on this forum (not by a long shot!!!) but, there are some really great people here with years of experience with dogs of all breeds. I'm sure someone will be able to help you out. Just hang on and give them time to answer. Are the sores just located on her head?

If the dog normally has allergies, these are probably just hot spots from the allergies. I wouldn't be too concerned, but I'd definitely take her to the vet to double check.

Fleas can leave sores on a dog.
