Default Help

So we took our 3 m old pup to the vet. he got a clean bill of health. Got some Deworming med's. Gave him the one and the other is not for two weeks. After this first one he hasn't been eating as good as he was before. doesn't finish and picks at it. which before the deworming med's he would eat up everything in the bowl within 10 minutes. He also has been sleeping a unusually large amount. The vet's is closed and I would just like to get any advice. Thanks

Think the stuff may upset his stomach!! I would suggest putting the name of the wormer in your browser----(name of medicine)/adverse reactions or (name of medicine)/side effects and you will prob get some info!

Upset belly IMO. I give my dogs a tiny bit of maalox for upset tummy.

This is a normal reaction for a puppy to a wormer. What wormer did the breeder/rescue/previous owner use? when?

Dogs should be wormed at 4, 6, 8 & 10 weeks old then 3 months on from there. When the course is first started you are likely to see some (or a lot!) of worms in the dogs stool, but this is normal and OK, pick it up and clean the area and move on. If the dog hasn't been wormed before they do it every 2 weeks for 8 weeks (ie, if he is 12 weeks then do it at 12wks, 14wks, 16wks, 18wks) then every 3 months from then for a few months then go from there however you wish.

Just observe your dog for the meantime if it is still lethargic and doesnt want to eat then you should bring your pet to the vet...
