Default Tail down...

My dog is roughly 12 years old. He is a bichon frise. Today, basically the whole day he has been holding his tail down. He eats and drinks perfectly normally however ive tried giving him his favorite treats and anything that would normally make him really happy and he eats them but he just isnt quite as normal as he usually is. I have also tried to move around his tail a bit and he doesnt react at all to that so Im guessing there is nothing wrong with his tail. I should probably take him to the vet right? If he doesnt become normal within the next few days. Any suggestions to what could be wrong?

Not much to go on here for symptoms. But sounds like he may not be feeling well or sad about something. Don't think his tail has anything to do with it except that is his way of expressing how he feels. Anything different happening this day to make him sad or bored or just out of the ordinare? See
how he is tomorrow and keep a close eye on him for any symptoms that something is wrong---even subtle signs! Has he eaten anything he shouldn't have or had a change in his diet? Hope he is back to his normal self tomorrow!
