What does everyone feed?
The first few years of my dogs lives, they were fed purina Dog Chow. Mostly because I didn't know any better and because I had no income (So my husband was in charge of their food.)
Now I have kind of run the gambit of things my dogs eat. We did strict prey model for a while but it wasn't working for my situation. We have tried many different brands but now I feed mainly Taste of the Wild. They have also gotten NAtural Balance, Wellness, Blue Buffalo, and some others. I give them raw meaty bones for fun.
I am just curious what you people feed and why you feed it? I am not going to jump down your throat if I don't happen to agree with you but I like to see what everyone else is doing.

Young Taj gets the lot.
Dry food, wet food, leftovers, bones and his favorite of all time raw chicken necks
Sometimes he gets it in his bowl and sometimes I throw it on the lawn for him to graze.

My 2 get mostly a raw food diet with some home-cooking. Corky (cocker/golden retriever mix) loves the raw chicken necks the best too. For the morning meal they get mostly cooked oatmeal with various additions added in like eggs--raw yolk added in after oatmeal has cooled some. The egg white, I stir into the oatmeal as soon as I take it off the stove and this turns the egg white 'white' and means it is cooked--I may put meat tidbits in too--cooked pcs of chicken usually. I just found out recently that they even like cinnamon in their oatmeal. Other morning meals may be cottage cheese with an egg (raw), some pumpkin, maybe a few pcs. of 'good' bread. About once or twice a week, they will have canned salmon or mackerel which I add an egg to, and a little cottage cheese--maybe a few pcs. of bread. Supper is usually raw meat mixed with finely grated raw veggies. Once in a while I will give them a cooked chicken meal with a lot of cooked veggies--esp. carrots, celery, broccoli and whatever other veggie I have at the time--They love asparagus. I garden for my dogs mainly so I can have fresh--I also grind and mix dif. veg. blends and put in freezer for winter meals. I never will give them commercial canned veggies! I like to give them raw cubed venison the best as far as meat goes as it has not been 'messed with' like the things that are fed to the cattle and other meat supplys are. But have to depend on the hunters in my family for some of that and don't get as much as I'd like!

My two get a meal of my homecooked dog food and a meal of Orijen dry every day - plus treats and whatever interests them from off of my plate...

We feed out dog Chicken Soup for the Puppy Lovers Soul - she seems to love it and she has been doing really well on it. We will be switching her shortly to the adult formula.

Our four dogs and revolving foster dogs eat Primal Organic Chicken (antibiotic and hormone free) raw food. They get green beans, baby carrots and/or chicken and dried banana treats for snacks.

what does everyone feed?
Our dog gets a mixture Raw food, fed at late afternoon with the morning diet of Innova Evo in the morning. Not adversed to using Origen either as they complement each other quite well. Both are grainless with low carbs and higher caloric density which does well for active little yorkie/shitszu cross

I feed Eagle Pack Natural daily and once a week the dogs get beef liver and mixed vegetables with a little kibble. I would love to feed some raw to my Grey but then my Shep wouldn't eat here food and she gets bad diareah from raw...her stomach is not what it use to be. My Shep doesn't get a reaction to the liver at all.

Rotating food
I found a new food called Rotations. It comes in a box with three different bags of food (chicken, salmon, lamb) and you rotate your dog through each bag. The concept makes sense; if we don't eat the same things everyday, why should our pets? My dog loves the tastes and never gets bored with his meals. Also, he hasn't had any problems with loose stool. Oh and, it's all natural/made in USA. So far, it's worked wonders!

Hi, new here. I'm surprised at how many feed people food. Our dog is a rescue and was very ill behaved when she came to live with us so initially we forbade any people food. We began using Beneful dry and thought that was a good food. My dog ended up getting deathly ill from a bad batch (let me add nothing was ever officially proven) of dry dog food.
My husband began giving her more and more people food then we went with Blue seal foods purchased from Agway which we mix with people food. My dog is pretty spoiled. Now she had diabetes and her vet said I dont have to worry about changing her diet right now. I'm not so sure about that.

When my dog was still a puppy, I used to give him Vitality High Energy. Now he's already a year old, I give him Holistic. I like the result of Holistic more than Vitality. Also, I give him vitamins too and add apple cider vinegar to his drinking water.

I've been feeding my dogs a raw diet - bones, meat, raw eggs, organs - for 6 months and was thinking about switching to Innova Evo but am not sure what to do.
Has anyone else switched from raw back to dry food? I've heard a lot of negatives about "kibble" but my dogs are not doing as well as I had expected on the raw diet, although they seem to love it.
Yesterday evening my 3-year-old Jack Russell had a pretty severe seizure. I don't think it was related to his diet but I'm not sure.
Any advice about switching to Evo?

Thank you Corky/Max. I skimmed over the information and will go back and read it thoroughly. I just wanted to say thanks first.

This is a raw house ... cats and dog.
Since i'm a butcher my critters get a great selection of meat at a very low cost.
my cats prefer fish ... pick that up from the freezer at the grocery store in bulk.
my dog is an 83 pound greyhound and he gets ablut 1.7 pounds per day. His diet includes: beef tongue, liver, pork, chicken quarters, ground beef, tripe, beef trachea, lamb, goat and bison on a regular basis. occasionally we also get goose, venison, rabbit and fresh fish in his diet.
Thanks
