Natures Variety Prairie Kibble
I was out doing some more "leg work" in my quest for finding the proper food for my 17 week old great dane pup and I came across another variety I had never heard of. It is Natures Variety Prairie kibble for dogs(NOT Natures Variety INSTINCT). Instinct seems good and is grain free but all the numbers are WAY too high for large and giant breeds in my opinion as far as Protein, Fat, Calories and the calcium to phosphate ratios. The Prairie line comes in 5 varieties with all having 26%protein and 14%fat(good right?). Next I will list each variety followed by calcium, phosphorous, and calories per cup.
CHICKEN-Calcium 1.41% Phosphorous 0.90% and 391 calories/cup,
LAMB- 1.89% 0.90 409
SALMON- 1.65 1.09 420
BEEF- 1.41 0.90 430
VENISON- 2.00 1.44 434
Just wondering if anybody feeds this and what kind of experiences you may have had with this. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance to everybody, Chris.
