My 5 month old male Great Dane puppy is pooping firm to semi firm, light brown in color on a regular basis. After a few hours though, the stool starts to dry up already and turns dark black in color on the outside. He is on Innova Large Breed puppy formula(just went to 100% Innova though 5 days ago, before that it was 50/50 mixed with Eagle Pack Holistic for a week or so). Does this just mean that his body is using all the nutrients or does this mean something else? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Dog's stool is normally a darker color on the outside with a lighter color on the inside. Sometimes it also depends on the food that the dog is taking.To be sure, better take your pup to vet to have the stool examined.
