Default problems with mange

so my pup is a lab border collie mix and about 10 months old, shes been struggling with mange on and off for about 4 months now, shes currently on 2 ML a day of ivermectin but she had a outbreak? i guess you would call it and scratched the hell out of her neck, so now she has a big mucusy scaby inch wide spot on her neck, ive been trying to put neosporon on it a few times a day, and the rest of her mange is clearing up now thanks to the ivermectin, but im worried about that big sore on her neck

I think the best thing is to get something from the vet or at least talk to him on the phone. But will paste this paragraph that I got from a person I know who had a sore to try and heal on her dog. BUT it is not the exact same problem but may help! Remember--I am not a vet or any kind of expert so don't know if this is the right thing for your dog!!!
The vet thinks she might have tore something when she had one of her seizures. He said it looked like and absessed muscle. He said to clean it twice a day and put a warm compress on it after I clean it. Then put iodine on it and cover it with a bandage for most of the day. He said to take the bandage off for few hours a day to let the wound breathe. He said if the lump doesn't go away in a week, bring her back. His treatment is working though. Luna is back to her normal knocking everyone over self and the lump is getting smaller and it draining quite nicely.

Hoss,

Did a vet diagnose your dog's mange? The treatment for demodex and sarcoptes are different, but, will appear similar in terms of clinical signs? As for your ivermec, did your vet prescribe it? Be careful with that stuff. I know your dog is a mix, but, collie's (all of them) are considered risk breeds for ivermectin toxicity. Signs for that would include: hypersalivation and dry eyes.

As for the wound - I don't know if your home treatment will work or not. If it's as bad as it sounds, probably not, but I haven't seen the wound. If it has a pus-like discharge, I would def. get it into the vet b/c you can't say for sure what kind of infection it is. Lab-Collie mix also sounds kind of hairy = bad for wound infections. Hair traps TONS of little microbes that just can't wait to get into a wound and multiply a few million times.
