Default Can you help Please?

Hello, was hoping someone has had a simular problem and could give some advice as to what it is and what to do.
My Kelpie x boarder collie is not well. He is snapping at the kids if they go near him, and he is really sad. He has gone off his food. On close inspection, I have found some little sores, almost pin head size and wet blood at the base of his back, the start of his tail. He is very fluffy there, so it was hard to really get a good look as my husband held him down as he was not very happy at all. Does anyone know what this is and what I could put on to help him? Thank you so much for reading this, kind regards Tracey

this area of the skin is generally moist and warm and is a main area for flea's even this time of year. Commonly it is a hot spot and very difficult for dogs to get at that area to alleviate the itching so tend to just be upset. Trying bathing and a flea treatment to see if this helps. If you can try flea shampoo then something a shampoo for the itching. Your vet may have something available. Good luck.
