You definitely should have your vet check things out---It could be many things--worms/parasites, pancreatitis. colitis, other stomach/bowel problems.
Is this poop like a diarrhea? What are the characteristics of the poop?--the COLOR as yellow or greenish; black, tarry; red blood or clots; pasty, light; large, gray, rancid. CONSISTENCY(like watery, foamy, greasy, glistening or jellylike), the SMELL as foodlike, or smelling like sour milk; rancid or foul.
How long has this been going on!? I'd be worried about dehydration, also loss of B vitamins. Make sure he is getting plenty of water!!!
Are there any other signs as vomiting, straining while pooping. Does he appear healthy otherwise. Is he 'droopy'--acting like he is sick or just not very 'perky?' What kind of dog food do you feed?--Could be malnutrition if hungry all the time also and not gaining any weight--Worms could cause this too. Has he ever been wormed? Is he a skittish pup? Nervous stomach? I think I have read that chihuahuas are fearful.
Please give more information as outlined above. I have a home veterinary handbook and can tell you some things based on the characteristics of the poop--BUT you do need to get this checked out by a vet--May need bloodwork to rule out things, etc. At least a fecal exam! The above characteristics would be a good thing to tell your vet when you go see him and can help him diagnose!
I am by no means an expert (or vet). Please see your vet now!!
