I'm very sorry for your loss. Both you and your daughter must be feeling terrible right now. Judging by the very bad prognosis your little one faced, I truly believe you did the kindest and most loving thing you could do by letting her go. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Jojo,
I am sorry you had to go through this. I have been there and know what it's like. I gotta tell you though, it sounded like the right decision. One of the hardest parts of my career is not putting an animal down (that's probably the second hardest). The worst (by far) is when I have a patient that is in terrible pain, is frightened, and there's nothing we can do for it, yet the owner demands to keep it all going.
Keep your head up, give it some time so you can grieve and reflect back on Betty. Then, one day when the time is right, maybe you can consider another one.

Sorry to hear of your loss---I know you are very sad and grieving but you will see your Betty again one day and you will see that she is free from all her misery and wanting to play and be with you again.

I am so sorry to hear of your loss, Betty. Time will tell you that she is in a far better place, The Rainbow Bridge, free from pain, free to run again. My Jasmine was there to open the gates and now you have a Guardian Angel watching over you and your family.
Thoughts and prayers for you today.

Jasmine was loved
Jasmine was given ProIn

Hello,
First of all, if you can't afford the surgery don't give up. I've known plenty of dogs that got back on their feet without surgery, including my Myrtle. She had the surgery the first time her back went out, but I simply couldn't afford it the second time. But I did her physio and "sling walking" and eventually she got back up on her feet. As long as your girl has some feeling in her toes, and is not in pain, and is continent, then there is hope. Discuss the options with your vet, if they are not supportive try a different vet.
