Default dog's diet

let's share something about our pets.
What is your dog's diet/day?
how big is he?
what's its breed?

I have a senior female Border Collie X, and two shorty JRT's - 1 female and one male. They get one meal of a high quality dry food and one meal of home cooked food that I prepare and freeze for them in meal sized containers.

BTW, welcome to the forum!

i have a 65lb lab/pt mix female. i feed her a raw diet. generally a prey model diet with pureed vegetables and fruits/supplements on the side. i try to make a compromise between the BARF diet and the prey model diet.

oh, and about 3-4 times per week i feed them high quality, grain-free kibble in the morning.

Hey, lol, You never 'shared' your answers! So how about answering your own questions!?
I have 2 dogs--a cocker spaniel---about 32-35 lbs (needs to lose a little weight!) and a cocker/golden retriever mix---about 38-40 lbs. They get fed mostly raw with some home-cooking thrown in--never commercial dog food.

Our diabetic dog is currently under raw food diet. The vet said it really is the best thing for him, it is natural, and healthy.

I've put my dogs on a home cooked diet consisting of raw meat and liver and brown rice. They are doing very well on this diet

Default A little bit of everything

Hi.
My husband and I have two dogs, a white Miniature Poodle and a German Rottweiler Mix.

I try to avoid kibble as much as possible and especially kibble with the main ingredient being corn. (Doesn't make sense to me feeding a carnivore/scavenger a bunch of grains.)

I try to emphasize a diet that will prevent them from getting an upset stomach or diarrhea from the slightest environmental change or change in diet, so I got them used to being fed a large variety of things ranging from whole pieces of raw chicken (eliminates plaque build up and eliminates bad breath better than any tooth brush), to salad, rice, cooked chicken (without bones!!), sometimes Tahini (an oriental plain sesame based side dish), some cheese types (like plain gorgonzola cheese), unsalted food leftovers ( other than cooked bones- too many horror stories), nuts, dried berries and dried fruit, and many more things too many to write.
It just kind of turns into an experiment every day

When I feed meat without bones I add some ground eggshells I ground in the coffee grinder for more calcium to balance it a little.

Call me crazy, but I believe since dogs get their nutrients spread out over the course of a couple of weeks, the chances of their bodies getting what they need are higher when I feed a variety of everything, rather than the same stuff every day. ( That must be like having to eat cereal every day... )

Results: both dogs have iron stomachs and even though they are both nine (almost ten) years old they always eat what I feed them and love the variety. he
Neither of them has any health problems from their age and both still run and play like they are just a few months old

That's reason enough for me to feel reassured.

I have 3 saint bernards 110-150 lbs. They get one home cooked meal a day and one meal with kibble in the evening.

I have 6 Golden Retrievers ranging in weight from 55-75lbs.

They all eat an all natural dry dog food: 1.5cups 2x day to the food I add a couple supplements and always a cup of water. Sometimes I will add a couple tablespoons of all meat canned food, maybe once a month as a treat.
